04.03.10 | England 5 Pakistan 2 - England win again at Hockey World Cup

Jonty Clarke and Barry Middleton both scored twice but an injury to Richard Mantell overshadowed England's 5-2 World Cup Pool B win over Pakistan. Mantell suffered a suspected ankle dislocation during the second half, but England recovered to maintain their 100% record after three matches. Clarke's sliding effort and an Ashley Jackson strike had put England 2-0 up before Pakistan levelled. Two late goals by Middleton and one by Clarke sealed the victory in Delhi.  This win now leaves England 3 points clear at the top of the table.

02.03.10 | Iain Mackay scores in Englands victory over South Africa

Slazenger's Iain Mackay scored during England's thrilling game against South Africa in the Hockey World Cup. England recored their second successive win in with a 6-4 win over South Africa. It was the first time in Hockey World Cup history that England scored six goals in a single match.

26.02.10 | Dan Fox gets England call up for World Cup

Slazenger's Dan Fox has been called up to the England squad for the World Cup which starts in March. Fox will join up with the rest of the squad in Delhi today after replacing Simon Mantell, who sustained a foot injury. Dan Fox made his international debut in May last year.

 

 

 

England gets its World Cup campaign underway against Australia at 13:05 GMT on Sunday before taking on South Africa, Pakistan, India and Spain in the 12 team tournament.

26.02.10 | Ali Wilson targets World Cup Glory

Slazenger's Ali Wilson is hoping England can do better at this years World Cup. England finished fifth at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and are only ranked sixth in the world. But Ali, speaking to BBC Nottingham said "To do worse than we did last time would be a backward step." England, who must finish in the top two of the six-team group to qualify, face Australia in the Pool opener on Sunday. As well as Australia, England will also face hosts India, Pakistan, Spain and South Africa in Pool B. Wilson, who played in the last World Cup four years ago, said the squad is confident they can reach the last four of the 12-team competition. 16.11.09 | Slazenger players in Champions Trophy

Three of Slazenger's players Ali Wilson, Dan Fox and Iain MacKay travel to Melbourne for the Champions Trophy - the most prestigious annual event for six of the top ranked nations in the world. Joining England in the event are hosts Australia, Korea, Netherlands, Spain and the World and Olympic Champions Germany.

02.09.09 | England Hockey win European Cup 2009

Slazenger sponsored players Ben Hawes and Alastair Wilson helped the England Men’s hockey team to defeat Germany - the Beijing Olympic gold medalists, in the final of the European Championship at Amstelveen to win their first continental title. It was England’s first major title since they won the 1908 and 1920 Olympic titles before the days of the Great Britain sides.

England triumphed in a thrilling 5-3 victory over their German counterparts. They played outstanding hockey and on this form they will certainly be serious contenders at the World Cup in Delhi next year and, in Great Britain colours, at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

12.08.09 | England U21 Women reach Semi-finals of Junior World Cup

England's U21 Women's side have finished top of Pool F to secure a semi-final spot in the BDO Junior World Cup in Boston. England will face the runner's up of the Pool E which will be decided in today's final group games.

Harriet Pearce got England off to a great start when she scored from a penalty corner in the eight minute but after a period of pressure from the Australians they brought the score back level when Danielle Schbach scored in the 27th minute. 

The semi-final spot means England will finish no lower than 4th which is three places higher than their best ever Junior World Cup finish of seventh in 1997.

18.06.09 | International Friendly Games at Nottingham Highfields

A week after winning the Hamburg Masters in Germany, Australia travelled to play a 2 game test series against England at Nottingham Highfields Hockey Centre.

Slazengers Ben Hawes and Dan Fox were involved in both games during the series. Ben Hawes scored to draw a goal back after Australia took an early 2 goal lead in the first game with the final score being a close 5-4 win to Austrlia. The second game was a more convincing score line for Austalia who were a lot more clinical in converting their chances and ran out 4-1 winners.

 

15.06.09 | EHL 2009 Finals Weekend

The last weekend in May saw Rotterdam Hockey Club host a sell out capacity crowd of 4,000 for the Euro Hockey League (EHL) Semi finals and Finals. 
Saturday saw two closely contested Semi Finals with Blomendaal and Uhlenhorsetr coming out victors, both games provided plenty of goals and action for the sell out crowd to enjoy.  Uhlenhorster of Germany defeated Leuven of Belgium 3-2. An all Netherlands affair saw Blomendaal over come Rotterdam by 4 goal to 3. 
 
Sunday 31st July - The 3rd and 4th place playoff between Leuven and Rotterdam was won convincingly by Rotterdam 8-1. In the Final Bloemendaal stormed to a 5-1 lead and looked like they would run away with the title but the German team managed to get back in the game and bring the score line back to a one goal deficit, but it wasn't to be for the 2008 winners as Uhlenhorster could not get back on equal terms and Bloemendaal were crowned 2009 EHL Champions.
Slazenger were at the event displaying the current 2009 range of equipment.

13.05.09 | Slazenger sign deal with Scottish Hockey

Slazenger is pleased to announce their new agreement with Scottish Hockey, which will see them as an Official Sponsorship partner until September 2011. The deal will see the brand supporting Junior Scottish players in their build up to the U18 Europeans and the U16 Four Nations Tournaments.

Slazenger's Sponsorship Executive Chloe Passant commented on the deal "We are delighted to enter in to partnership with Scottish Hockey. The deal demonstrates the Slazenger commitment to offer market leading hockey equipment to players of all levels, and to continue our support of the development of junior hockey. We are well placed to do this from our position at the forefront of the hockey brands in the marketplace".
