Alastair Wilson


Alastair, 26, started playing hockey at just aged 5. He currently plays his club hockey for Beeston as a centre midfielder and made his England debut in January 2005 on the tour of South Africa. He has accumulated an outstanding 61 caps for England and 31 for Great Britain as a half back. In 2009 Alastair was part of the England team which clinched the European Championship at Amstelveen to win their first continental title. It was England’s first major title since they won the 1908 and 1920 Olympic titles before the days of the Great Britain sides. Alastair’s other career highlights to date include walking out at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Alastair, who uses the N. Pro 1 Stick, is the youngest ever National League player, making his debut for Sheffield at 13.
